Appreciation

10:45 pm: I am exhausted. My energy level is a minus 2. Okay not literally minus 2, but it sure feels like it. Work, work, work, it is never ending. My boss is so demanding. There are no thank yous, no appreciation, just a lot of complaints.

No time to clean up, I need sleep.

Beep, beep, beep, it is midnight. I need to check the security and make sure all my boss’ programs are up to date.

1:00 am: Everything looks good, now I can sleep.

5:00 am: Good morning, hardly any time to get ready, my boss likes the news, sports, and weather first thing in the morning. I need to keep her apprised of everything going on in the world. I wouldn’t want her looking clueless, which she technically would be without me.

6:00 am: Time to wake my boss. And there it is, right in the wake up, her first complaint. She doesn’t want to get up. Well, you told me when to wake you, so why are you so upset? If I woke her later, boy would I hear it. She is never happy.

Here I am feeling a little bit good about myself and all she does is complain about me. You don’t run fast enough; you are a mess; you are stupid; you don’t take clear photos; your energy level is too low, blah, blah, blah.

Then there are the threats: I can replace you with someone prettier, fancier, smarter, sharper, and younger. It is never ending. I don’t get paid enough to put up with this abuse. The reason I am a mess and don’t take clean enough pictures for her is because she drops me, spills on me, tosses me around, stuffs me in her pocket, holds me with her germ-covered hands. When was the last time she washed her hands let alone me?

I get no appreciation. She runs me all day long. I get no rest and yet she gets mad at me when my battery is low. I would like her to do all the things I do and see how her battery survives; see how she looks after being dropped a few times. I am sure she wouldn’t look so hot either. So get off my case. Seriously, take off my case and get a new one. The thing is chipped and stained. I could use a new outfit.
